The annual Newtown Holiday Open House Tour is back again
This year marks the 56th annual Holiday Open House Tour and as usual is promises not too disappoint. The original Open House tour was called "Christmas in Colonial Newtown" and it took place in 1963. Back then, it cost just $1.50 featured 7 homes. A carol and candlelight parade in costume was featured on Friday night starting at Washington and Chancellor Streets and street caroling on Sunday beginning at 5 p.m. at the Bird in Hand.
The 56th Annual Open House Tour will be held this Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Major snow date is Sunday, Dec 2. Reserve your tickets Online Here for pickup the day of the event, or purchase tickets directly beginning Nov 10 — available at The Newtown Book & Record Exchange, 102 S. State St., Newtown. On the day of the tour, tickets will be available for purchase at the Half-Moon Inn, Court Street and Centre Avenue, and at the Stocking Works, 301 South State Street, Newtown. Children under the age of 12 are free.
